Is this a SCAM? Job posting seems sneeky?

Hey there,

I have a question. Has anyone run across a job posting they've applied for and had a response consisting of asking you to fill out a form including your cell phone and cell phone carrier? It seems scammish to me.

Here is a link (not sure how long it will be posted)

http://popupcareers.com/joboffer/register.cfm?jobpositionid=50025

I have filled out this form once, and everytime i have a new job i applied for send me one, its always the same, minus the change in background etc.

I am quite upset about this as it is hard enough to find a job, let alone if this is a "get info quick to sell" scam.

Anyone else experience this?

  1. Yes, I was led to a couple of these sites through Craigslist. I believe they are trying to sell you job training or some kind of career school. I did not give them any info.!

I find this to be upsetting, too. I am trying so hard to find work, but all there seem to be are scams.

Good luck to you. Hang in there and keep trying.

  2. Probably is a scam.

When I’m looking for jobs, I check a site like Monster or Career Builder. I will only consider postings that list the specific company name, and then I visit that company’s site to look for postings and find out how to apply. I always apply directly through the potential employer’s site, never through the big conglomerate site, and I wouldn’t look for jobs on some unknown sight like the one you’ve listed.
