Is this a Star Trek symbol ?

I was wondering if any of the Star Trek fans out there recognize this symbol it looks familiar but I can't place it It may not be from Star Trek but other things lead me to believe it is.

The bit on the left MIGHT be, but it is too small and blurry to see enough detail.

I'd advise you find a larger image of this to post to get more accurate and definitive answers
