Is this a bad ACT score?

I got a composite score of 13, but I didn't get my writing results yet. I am so angry at myself because this was the first time i took it and I feel like I didn't study enough. I am entering my Senior year of high school and I want to go to a good college of my choice. Do you think that could still happen?

holy c**p that's pretty bad... but the average score for African Americans is 17 so i guess your in the ball park

i got a 20 on my PACT, a 26 the first time i took a real ACT and a 28 the second time.... i don't think i can do much better than that though....

so anyway the most important info i can give answer all the questions and keep track of time... try to finish all sections of the test and don't get nervous... prep in your regular school classes are the best way to get a good score so if you don't pay attention in class or go to a bad school that could play a big factor

Apply and take the ACT prep course. Most high schools offer this course in your senior year.  However, ninth grader take the plan and the explorer test (pre-ACT test), and their score range from a 17 or better. I would go on record and say that 13 is extremely low. This score reflect math, science, and reading. Most good colleges are looking for an Act score of 22 or better.

That's not a good score. i'm trying to stay positive hear, but you should've done better esp. if you want to go to a college of your choice. I'm beating myself up and I got a 23. Study, study, study, study. Can't say that enough. Practice tests on the ACT website, act.org will really help. Getting review books and taking extra classes in school to help prepare come in handy as well. The first ACT test date for the 2008-2009 year is October 25th...you definately have to be there if you want to go to a good school. There are some who will accept you without caring much about test scores, and they aren't bad schools, some are very good infact and very affordable compared to others, but you need at least a 20 to get into any public university. If you want to go to a more selective school, you need at least a 25 or better.

You score of a 13 means out of 100 people, you scored better than 5! A 13 on the ACT is equal to a 900 on the SAT and you get that by spelling your name correctly! You really need to get a better score...a much better one.

yes that is very very bad. a good college wants a 24-26 at least.

try studying and taking practice  tests. they help a lot.
