  1. It reminds me of this child's storybook when I was in kindergarten. It was a book based on the name Chrysanthemum, go to your local library and take a glance at it, it'll help you make your decision. :) In my opinion, I think it'd be a great idea to honor your daughter with this beautiful name.

  2. It'll end up "Chrissy" for short, it's not a bad name.

  3. sure its unique dear, but its too unique- its weird, n doesnt sound gud. its not my type n wont b easily acceptable, write, decipher or memorize. i do appreciate ur creativity n innovation but this name will most likely b the only one n weirdest, n it does not appease people.

  4. It sounds ok, but I think it's a bit long and confusing for a little child to spell.

  5. Chrysanthemum

nick names could be Chris, Chrissie, Ann,

  6. It's not my style...

But if you love it, you should use it!

  7. They will make fun of her and call her Chrystler or Chrystalmeth or something rude

I could get used to it but I am afraid she will be tortured in life

  8. Even though it's cute for a baby, think about the future. How do you think kids in school and people might react to it? If you don't think it's a problem then go for it! She can always abbreviate it to Chrysi!

  9. It's a terrible in my opinion and teasing is gonna be rife with a name like it.

  10. What if you make her first name Chrys and her middle name Anthemum? Then you can call her Chrysanthemum if you like and all her friends and teachers can call her Chrys? Or Chryssie?

  11. thats pretty and you can call her chrisy

  12. Nope.  My friends name is Chrisantheium (Chrysanthemum as an influence) and if u aren't in her circle or the government u wouldn't ever know what her real name is.  She goes by a nickname...which is from her middle name.

  13. ....are you kidding me?

well; If classmates called her Chrys when shes older, it'd be okay, and cute.

But I can't imagine calling a classmate that every time I want to say her name. you know?

  14. that is a bad name, i bet you have an average name, you dont kno what its like to grow up with a very uncommon name that ppl cant pronounce or spell it sucks. i grew up with a name that i cant stand, going to school, on interviews and meeting new ppl is hard, because difficult names are burdens... please dont do this go that poor child

  15. It's quite unusual and rather nice, BUT, it's very hard to spell and when she's going to be in Kindergarten, she's going to have a hard time. And it's hard to pronounce if you're not used to it. Also, idk if it is just me, but if you put in spaces the name seems to be Chrys an' the mum! lol

I do like the nickname Chrys, though! Maybe you can have Chrysanthemum as a second name? Or you can call her Chrystina, or something.

    Hope this helps! :)

  16. I'm not a huge fan of it...if you're naming her because you like the flower, you may want to consider the name's meaning (according to the website listed below), which is Marigold.

Alternatively, similar sounding names such as follows could work just as well:

    Chryseis - Greek - Golden

Chrys or Chrysa - Greek - Bearer of Christ

Chrysandra - Greek - Marigold (it has the same meaning as Chrysandra)

I really wouldn't recommend naming her Chrysanthemum, it doesn't really strike me as actually being a person's name sorry. I would recommend using Chrysandra as it still has the same meaning.

  17. im sorry but i dont think she will be very thankful when she grows up.

  18. Personally I wouldn't contemplate naming my child that....

It's not the worst name in the world, you can always call her Chrissy, but it is quite the mouthful

  19. I really enjoy this name. It sounds like the flower, and I like flower names, and it reminds me of the character Crysanthemum in the book by Kevin Henkes of that title. This is a very pretty name!

  20. I also think that it is unique. This is your style of names, but not the style that I would use. I agree that it is very unique, and to you it is pretty and that is all that matter, right?

    Hope I helped!

  21. i kinda like the name and kinda don't but i think its a bit long. if you hated your name when you when you were little, think about them. Personally, i loved my name and i still do. my mum named me after Nadia Comaneci who is a famous gymnast. I love gymnastics!!!!! tell her about the chrysanthemum flower and how many people love it then maybe she'll love her name too!

  22. I love it do it!!!!Im planning on naming my baby tht too. God Ashley, John, Jessica, booooring were all individuals and our names shoud reflect tht. I think its a beautiful unique name who cares if its long god poeple are laaazy sooo wht if it has 13 letters. Looove it do it its beautiful

  23. Okay, admittedly, that is pretty hippy. I think it is a lovely word, and yes a nick name will certainly spring from it. I guess, you should ask yourself why you want this name so much, and analyze your motive to make this decision. =)

  24. well theres plenty of nicknames that kids could make up with that name, but to be honest kids will do that with ANY name.  So if you like it, go for it!  After all if she doesnt like it she can always change it by deedpoll!

  25. I hope you rethink this for her sake. its way too much. You think its unique and pretty but most people will think "poor kid". I am not trying to be hurtful, just honest as you asked. sorry. Maybe just use Chysta.

  26. if you like it you should DO IT!

people will probably call her chrissy or something....

i think it makes her seem like a flower which is a very good thing

    don't go with the normals

  27. I would make it her middle name, which you can call her by, but give her a shorter, easier name as her first!

That way she can go by something short and easy if she chooses to, and won't need to be able to spell it that early, but middle names are perfectly acceptably used as given names if it's wanted.

  28. no dont do that. that poor kid will be teased at school

  29. woooooooooooooooow! my daughter name is Anastasia shanakay

  30. I think this is a nice sounding word, but I know that a lot of adults have trouble spelling it. Can you imagine being her trying to spell it on her spelling test in primary school? Or filling out her driver's application form when she's older? Would there even be enough room for that name to fit on that form?

Perhaps you may be able to find a similar word that is not so confusing for everyone, but still has a nice sound to it like Jasmine (I know it's common) or Crystal? Delilah, or Mia? I know Mia is in the total opposite direction to  but Chrysanthemum, but for some reason I think you might like it. Anyway, good luck, I hope you make the right choice ;)

  31. I like it. It's pretty. Good luck.
