Is this a bad idea? salt water cars?

When i grow up i want to make Salt Water powered Cars. They will look so cool like mustangs and nissan 350z and they'll look really nice and comfortable. We have so much saltwater that we need to do something with it so that we dont drown right? so what if when i grow up i invent saltwater powered cars. is this a bad idea

  1. how do you power a car with saltwater? believe me if it was possible it would be done already


  2. It's already been done.

    When an alloy of aluminum and gallium is placed in a saline solution (or more colloquially, saltwater) it creates hydrogen gas. The resulting hydrogen gas can be used to power an engine, and there are many videos of such a process being performed readily available on the internet.

    The only problem with the process is making it readily available to the consumer, and adjusting the process so that the alloys don't create so much hydrogen that they blow up the tank that they're contained in.

    It's much simpler (and more efficient) to run your car on Brown's Gas.
