Is this a bad idea with passport?

I am planning to travel home to UK with my partner and daughter this september. My daughter is 5 months old and hasnt got her passport yet..we plan to travel to the passport office to get it done...

We can pay extra to get the passport in 24hours, but we need to have proof of travel ticket..

The only thing is the flight prices are increasing the later it gets in the month and we will not be able to afford it.....we NEED to go home!

Is it a bad idea to book my flights then go in to get the passport ready? Im just worried we will book flights and not be able to actually go..as i cannot fly without my daughter, although i read this information on the canadian passport site.

We have all the application completed and photo ready to go...

Anybody experienced anything like this before?

Any advice?

We are in Canada AB...

  1. I'd say book the ticket, but check what the Change Fee is for the ticket.  It's usually $25-$50 -- be prepared to spend that if, for some reason, the passport is denied.  I can't imagine why a passport would be denied for a 5 month old.  Just make sure you have all the paperwork in order.

  2. i paid extra to get my passport in time and it came intime
