Is this a bad way to ask someone out?

I am going to ask this girl out. The only reason I havnt already is because I know that when the moment comes i'll say the wrong thing and f*ck it up.

So my idea was this: Recently I have been giving her cds and movies just as casual ways to say that i like her which she really likes. So i was thinking of burning a cd with a song that tells her exactly how i feel about her (if your wondering the song is 23 by Jimmy eat world i chose it because its not cliche' as typical love songs) and attaching a note with it and then giving it to her when i drop her off at her house next and telling her not to listen or read the note until she goes inside.

This way i wont have to say anything and that song expresses it better than i ever could have. Thoughts?

Well...it sounds sweet the problem is that if she doesnt intend to feel that way she might not even respond to you...so its good to give hersome hints before you give her the tape...smile at her and tell her sweetly ta tyou like her a lot and tell her some things u like about her...then gesture that you made this tape for her and ask her thoughts on that....its imp for her to know the reasons as well. Otherwise she will just take the tape and wonder wat does it mean and it might just be too abrupt. Cheers

It'd be even better if you recorded a personal track on the CD asking her out, it'd surprise her and be original.  Almost every girl has had a song dedicated to them or a note, but a permanently burned message of love she's not expecting and will be able to hear over and over?  THAT'S something!
