Question:

Is this a bad way to take out contacts?

In the morning I take my contacts out of the case by grabbing them with my (clean) fingers. Is this the way to do it? The handout my optometrist gave me said to slide the contacts out of the case and into my hand, but it's very messy (with the solution in there) so I don't do it that way anymore. Should I follow that way instead?

  1. I use my finger to slide it out and my thumb to grab it. Then i just rinse it and put it in. That's also the way my mom does it and she's had contacts for years, it's fine, contacts are so flexible, just make sure your finger are always clean and even after wiping my hands with a towel i make sure there are no little fuzzes on my fingers.

But yeah, the way you do it is fine.

  2. It sounds like the way you are taking the contacts out are fine. You have to handle them no matter what...the most important part is that your hands are clean when you are handling them. Whatever is easiest for you will work...
