III.

____1.

______A.

______B.

_________1.

____________a)

____________b)

(please ignore underscores)

I know it seems like too much, but if the labeling (1's, a's, b's, etc.) is wrong, is there any way I can correct it, while keeping this much detail in there?

  1. i think you need to change the second one to a 2....im not positive though...

  2. That's close...

    It would be:

    I.

    ___A.

    ___B.

    ______1.

    ______2.

    _________a.

    _________b.

...and so on. You had the right idea just reverse your first 1 and the A,B. Hope this helps!

  3. A little alteration and it will be spot on:

    III.

    ____1.

    ______a

    ______b.

    _________2.

    ____________a)

    ____________b)

Then repeat for all numbers. And you might have a, b, c, even d or more under a given number, depending on what you are doing and the depth required.

In my uni studies with 15 page papers I might have as many as 15 different ideas to covey with a half dozen resources to put under any given area.

In general looks like you are on the right track.

Remember that as you write you can change things round a bit, add resources, and on occasion decide to not use some.

An outline is sort of like a holiday agenda-- I, II, III etc represents to location, 1,2,3,4, etc, the things to see and do in each location. Look at it as an adventure and you ought to be ready to have a good time, and a good paper. I have noticed once the outline is in place the paper almost writes itself.
