My friend's house has ducted heating, at first it appeared cold but the longer I was there, it seemed warmer. My friend says it is kept down low, could this result, in the house seeming extra cold than other houses which are heated in a different way, and does the body adjust, making the house seem warmer over time?

  1. Here is a scientific test often done and used as an example to prove different things:

If you put a frog in boiling water, it will immediately jump out of it. If you put a frog in cold water that you slowly heat, the frog will be cooked before it does anything.

That's because we can hardly notice something that comes progressively and we get used of it.

The only way you can make sure the temperature is not changing is by checking over time with a very cheap thermometer.

  2. what? it starts out cold because it is just starting to heat up! and then it heats up more over time! its not a cost saving measure! all heaters do that!
