Question:

Is this a decent strength?

i am 14 i weigh 250 lbs and am 5'11'', i can do 25 push ups, 100 reps of 10 lbs, 100 curl ups, and run a mile in 13:00 or so

what do you think?

  1. run a mile in 13 minutes??? that's pretty slow i must say. other than that, i guess you're pretty strong


  2. ya it sounds like you can do all that when you are being tested in P.E. or competing on a one time basis but you don't do it on a regular basis....13 IS slow! Decent is maybe 9 and a half....for a guy 10lbs is pretty light...high school girls do 8lbs. You're bald.

    250 lbs. I'd say 50 might be muscle but 200 is fat honey...but you are only 14 and you might lose baby fat and you still have all the time in the world to get fit. If you want to start early then take weight lifting for every year of high school and by 18 you might look more attractive?

    everything else is pretty decent although I don't think you would win any gold medals in the olympics....

    But I noticed I'm built almost exactly the same way as you, weight and height and everything, although I'm not sure what your weight means because I'm 250 lbs, and muscly, no one would call me fat, It's because I have a big chest and huge shoulders, but I know guys that are 250lbs and are chunky like a funky monkey!!

    but If I were you I would start going to the weight room 2 or 3 days a week after school, and work on things like bench press and squating, oh and do  bicept curls!! girls love them bicepts!! oh and a tip, I didn't really get into weight lifting until I figured out the results it gives you. When I saw that you can see your muscles get big in less than a week, (as opposed to years, which is what I thought it really took) I was sold!!

    EDIT: weight lifting DOES NOT make you lose weight, you burn as much calories when weight lifting as you do when walking at a leisure pace on level ground. Why people confuse that fact is because wieght lifting will cause you to be more defined and make you APPEAR to have lost weight. if you want to burn calories then you'll want to do cardio work!

    trust me, I train every year for strong man competitions, and all my friends there know ALOT about hte dynamics of weight lifting, and that fact i mentioned above^^^ is wisdom shared by ALL weight lifters!

    oh, and also I'd say you're probably more around 215lbs of body mass, and the last 35 would be body fat!

    nobody's body mass would be 50lbs! no one!!

Well,when i was your age,My mother purchased me my 1st weight set.And i had time to build good nutrientional and eating habits,which i can see that's the direction your headed in,Just keep up the good work and in time your health,and strength will eventually increase,But remember nothing happens overnight!
