  1. both of you have amazing scores. i am 15 and can run one in 7:23 and am faster then most boys and girls even older then me. SO to even still be running at 37 is extraordinary!!!

  2. It partly depends on how much you went "all out," if you were utterly huffing and puffing afterward, how much other exercise you already tend to do, how much you're hurting tomorrow, etc.

The average untrained 37-year-old, male or female, could not readily pull off a 7:09 unless their life potentially depended on it and/or they threw caution to the wind and didn't care about injury.

Most light, energetic kids can pump out decent mile times. I'd say your 7:09 is more on the "fairly good" side than anything else, but if you're already doing a lot of cardio, biking, etc. and have been for years, it shouldn't be too too surprising.

I believe many people would slow with their metabolism in their late 20's / early 30's compared to your time, and your daughter is probably in the ballpark she should be.

The big question is if you're going to feel it the next few days....

  3. well im a pretty good runner and i was running that time when i was that age to (11) and know im 13 and i can run it in 5:19 or so. I think your daughter is a good runner and you dont need to worry bc thats a good time half of my friends cant even run a mile in 10 min so your doing good .♥♪♫

  4. not bad I'm 10 years old and I can run the mile in 7:08.

  5. Thats pretty slow. Granted I am a track runner in high school but I ran 2 miles in 14.54. I wasn't running my hardest though.

  6. Consider it a good start.  At 37 you should be able to get your time down below 6 minutes if you take it seriously.

It will take a lot of work but make it a goal to bring your time down 10 seconds every 2 or 3 weeks.

But if it does not work out do not fret.  Not everyone is built for running or even naturally athletic.  Do not sweat it if it does not happen.  I will take a real dedication to get it that low but you are still young and it is reasonible.

  7. her is pretty good. your time is pretty good for your age too. i'm 14 and though i am fast, i have no endurance so my mile run time runs a bit low. my fastest time during middle school was actually 7:43, but was usually closer to 9 min. i'm sure its a lot better now that i'm consistently training and doing 2-3 5,00's a week. i also have athsma to inhibit my running time. im more of a sprinter than an endurance runner. im training for volleyball now and we're doing lots of endurance training because we have to play quads this year. i dnt knw much about running, but your time sounds pretty good to me. i'm sure my dad thats, well, 40. and in pretty great shape except for his numerous pending injuries from the past 3 years, would have a time muuch higher than that.

  8. Not bad.

  9. yes thtat is  very good!  Im 13 and  that was my timefor the mile during track (keep in mind it was over 100degrees that day)

My  best is 6:22 but Ive been running track for two years

ur daughters time is really good and your is too

    keep it up :D

  10. ya yours is good and a 7:43 is not bad i am 12 and did it in 7:00 but i run a lot so you are both good

  11. well i am 13 and ran the mile in 6:32, i'm a girl

and my classmate did it in 5:39...but that dudes quick!

but most of the others got 9-12 minutes! so i think yours is awesome...especially for age!  it is great....but may i ask, was it a casual around the neiborhood mile or on a track?

  12. thats a good time

  13. That is a good time. Yes, someone could get faster if they are a track runner but for the average Joe, it is good. Of coarse it is not olympic material but better than most.  Once you start getting into even the 6 minute range you are looking at some serious talent.  A 10- minute mile is running 6 miles an hour so if your running it in 7 minutes, your running a pretty good pace.  I say your in great shape and your daughter is too.  At my middle school (7 years ago) our PE instructor it was mandatory to do it in under 10. If you can do it in under 8 you're good.

  14. Ehh...it really depends on the amount of aerobic training you do, but 7:09 is pretty good for people who don't run or swim or bike regularly.
