Is this a fair price ....?

Question

I have been wanting a patio cover on the back of my house. There is already a concrete slab which is only 10 x 10 and I have asked the builder to make the patio 18 X 12, have 2 fans and 4 lights in the ceiling. The patio cover needs to look like it was built with the house.

I am in Houston Texas and they quoted me $8500 is this a fair price do you think? Thanks

Construction prices can vary from area to area.  You should call other construction companies and have them come by and give you a quote for doing the same work (they should do this for free).  Make sure your current builder knows you're doing this.  Then go with the person who seems competent and gives you the best price.
