Is this a far stretch?

I'm 18 and ever since I was about 12, I had an emotional outpouring in regards to the Vietnam War. So much in fact, that after visiting the wall three times, I have contemplated on fundraising towards the goal of placing someform of plaque comemerating the 156 Medal of Honour recipients who receieved the award pothusemsly.

I think think their acts, some of these indivudals sacrificed their lives to save 4-5 people, should receieve a plaque of thanking them.

I find their contributions towards society (that including Vietnam Veteran's) to be rather unknowledged or appreciated.

I've heard people say there's enough information or "things" there, and I'm curious if anything like this would have a chance of happening?

  1. As a vet myself I am happy to see this. The Memorial day holiday is disappearing.

  2. I don't think a plaque will matter much.

  3. If you have this dream, then go for it and good luck.

  4. I agree with the first response.  If you're passionate about it, go for it.  What's the worst that could happen....they say no, right?

  5. There were plaques which were put up to acknowledge The Canadian Merchant Marine  and what it did during WW2 and people made complaints it's role was not aknowledged enough but it was and so could that of Vietnam. Another plaque though to the citizens of Vietnam elsewhere might be of use. One which lists The Vietnamese soldiers and citizens who lost their lives. North Korean and South Korean Soldiers both.  Another plaque to Vietnam vets exposed to Agent Orange and all those who died from it.  A plaque to Iraqi War Dead  American and Iraqi plus those exposed to depleted uranium.
