Question:

Is this a form of dyslexia or something?

When I write and then look back over what I've written I note that I often miss out whole words from the sentence, like in my last question I omitted the word 'think' from 'do you think the book differs from the film'?

I've often just put this down to being slopping and writing/typing too fast and have never given it much thought

  1. Sounds to me like a lack of concentration. Thinking of something else while writing?

  2. I have known "dyslexia" to be the reversal of letters in a word.  For example, you may have the word, "dog", but see it as "god".  But I have not known dyslexia to be the omission of words in a sentence.

Humans think more quickly than they can write.  So, what is probably happening in this instance is that you say the words correctly in your mind, but then by the time you get to jotting all of the words down on the paper, you might forget one of them.  It's a very common error that all people experience at one time or another.

If it happens way too often or if it affects  your functioning power, then I would see about getting it diagnosed in order to work with a speech therapist on stopping it from occurring anymore.  Otherwise, just be aware of the fact that you sometimes leave out words that you copy or type and try to be more careful not to do it any longer.

  3. it is the sign that your mind is active and you hands don't correspond with your mind..

  4. When you are actually thinking about the whole sentence you are writing about you are trying to cram it in as quick as possible and accidentally miss words out. I do the exactly the same so you are not on your own, but the advice is to double check before you submit your question or answer. It's not a form of Dyslexia, you can be sure you of that.

  5. I have a Bachelor of Education and a Master of Education - do not worry.

Your brain is so creative that your hand (and fingers) cannot keep up with your thoughts regarding writing. It is a lot more common than people realise.

You would probably be a very creative writer if you put your mind to it - the thoughts and words would just flow.

It is kind of like a gift - many people of all ages cannot write with such flow or speed of thought.

    You do not have dyslexia.

  6. you are just impatent

  7. Just make sure you re read everyting before you post it. Otherwise you may be asking a completely different question than what you intended.

  8. I do that quite a lot. My head is at least 10 words ahead of what I'm typing.
