  1. the ball has to completely go past the line but it doesn't have to touch the net

  2. Americans often get confused by this because so many american sports count the line as out of bounds or goals (touchdowns).

In soccer, the ball must cross the line, and the same is true for out of bounds on the touch lines and end lines.

  3. the whole ball has to be across the line.

  4. The ball must cross the line before it can be considered a goal.

  5. past it.

  6. It has to past the line to be counted as a goal.

  7. The ball has to go COMPLETELY past the line for it to become a legitimate goal. It's just like the sideline/endline -- the ball has to go completely past it for it to be out of bounds.
