Question:

Is this a good Resume Objective...?

I wish to secure an immediate, science related position in a fast paced atmosphere where my BS may be utilized. I believe my being equipped with QA/QC lab experience, quick protocol based decision making skills, and familiarity with working in an FDA/cGMP environment may add value to operations.

*is it too long or too wordy...or just too much altogether?

How would you suggest I fix it?

  1. Need to change science related and give some specifics, spell out BS, and take out may add value and put will add value.

    Other wise not too bad.

  2. Anything after utilized should be taken out.  Your resume should list those traits in it and having the experience isn't your objective.

  3. You should be specific about the kind of science you want to specialize in, egs., chemistry, biology, astronomy, earth science, physics, etc. Then maybe you should mention the specific type of career you would like to have, like an engineer, doctor, astronaut, forensic specialist, surgeon, chemist, etc. Science is an extremely broad field and you need to decide what you would like to do. If you are not sure yet, it is fine to put more than one answer. Or you could state you would like to start off doing ____ and expand the career to _______ by _______ (and broaden your goals). For the opening sentence, instead of stating "I wish", to me it sounds more powerful to state "I would like to". Instead of "secure" you can say "become accomplished in" or "become a successful _______". Or simply state "My primary goal (or one of my primary goals) is to have a successful _______ career." Then you can build it up and mention the other types of sciences you wish to study and what you will do with this as a profession. Take the next step and mention other significant goals and add in your skills and accomplishments. The length of your objectives depends on how many words and paragraphs they will allow. If you are not sure or the instructions/requirements do not mention anything, you could ask the one in charge. When writing your objectives, be concise, personable, but stick to your topic. Try not to ramble on. Remain interesting, but do not be too elaborate. Good luck.

  4. just use the first sentance. It is kinda to long just short it down!
