Is this a good amp to power my subs?

i have two alpine type r's, each is

12" Dual 4 Ohms Type R Series Subwoofer

Power Handling:

Peak: 1500 watts

RMS: 500 watts

Impedance: Dual 4 ohms

will two of those subs be good with a hifonics bxi 1208d at 1 ohm?

Brutus BXi Series Class D Monoblock Car Amplifier

RMS Power Rating:

4 ohms: 450 watts x 1 chan.

2 ohms: 900 watts x 1 chan.

1 ohm: 1200 watts x 1 chan.

  1. running 1 and 2 ohm systems are fine if you dont mind lots and lots of noise.  Amps dont last as long when you run them with hardly any impedance. if you want clear go with higher ohm amps. Notice that the quality amps dont offer loads below 4 or 2 as an absolute minimum. That says it in the specs. If all you want to do is rattle other peoples license plates...bridge it and run it at 1 then.

  3. Stare at a blank wall for several hours, and the answer as to whether it is a good amp to power subs will come to you in a sign.
