  1. McIntosh is one of the finest and cleanest sounding amps ever made. They are the "Bentley" of car audio amps. I personaly never could aford one. Hope this helped.

  2. there are amps that cost half that and are excellent amps, but you cant go wrong with that one (if you have cash to blow)

you would be fine buying any amp that was CEA-compliant

    CEA-2006 Compliant

On May 28, 2003, the Consumer Electronics Association published standard CEA-2006, "Testing & Measurement Methods for Mobile Audio Amplifiers." This "voluntary" standard advocates a uniform method for determining an amplifier's RMS power and signal-to-noise ratio. Using 14.4 volts, RMS watts are measured into a 4-ohm impedance load at 1 percent Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) plus noise, at a frequency range (for general purpose amplifiers) of 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz. Signal-to-Noise ratio is measured in weighted absolute decibels (dBA) at a reference of 1 watt into 4 ohms. This applies to both external amplifiers and the amplifiers within in-dash receivers.

CEA-2006 allows consumers to be able to compare car amplifiers and receivers on an equal basis. Manufacturers who choose to abide by the new standard are able to stamp their products with the CEA-2006 logo that reads: "Amp Power Standard CEA-2006 Compliant."

so it means that the amp has been tested and produces or exceeds the advertised RMS wattage with minimum distortion (distortion is the main cause of speaker damage)

    here are the CEA-compliant brands

    Alpine

    Bazooka

    Blaupunkt

    Clarion

    Eclipse

    Infinity

    JBL

    JL Audio

    JVC

    Kenwood

    Kicker

    Memphis

    MTX

    Orion

    Pioneer

    Polk Audio

    PPI

    Rockford Fosgate

    Sony

  3. look i dont know much about that amp but there are hundreds of amps   that give you more power and cost a lot less i am just telling to shop around plus i have never heard of that brand look into alpine or Rockford

  4. I dont know anything about McIntosh.

  5. Mcintosh? well i have not really  heard of this amp but the best thing to tell you is to stick with common brand name amps that everyone has heard off. and also you are not for sure if they do put out that many watts. So buy at your own risk
