I bought this Specialized Allez(Double) road bike for$800, and Ive always been a mountain biker, and casual biker, but I wanted to try this out. Ive been riding it for a month now and it feels really good and Im pretty comfortable on it. Is this bike generally for beginners?

  1. I know a couple of co-workers that bought this bike. The frame is lightweight aluminum but still incorporates carbon fiber parts across the bike for an overall lightweight package. The components are not top of the line but are still great. I just used this bike for the MS150 and found that it is a pretty good deal for how much you're paying versus what you're getting. I'm planning on buying the same model towards late fall. I'd say this is a perfect bike for beginners and will work well once you getter better too. Enjoy the bike, can't wait to get my hands on one myself.

  2. I've never tried it or heard anything about it. But, if your comfortable on it & having a good time thats your decision! it sounds like its good for beginners.=]

  3. A buddy of mine has had an Allez for many years.  It has proven to be a bullet proof bike for him.  From what I've seen this is an excellent beginner/recreational product.

Specialized uses a number of Sora and Tiagra components on the Allez.  This is decent quality recreational gear and should work well for a long time.  Sora and Tiagra are a bit heavier than 105 products, Shimano's line entry level racing line.

Good to hear the bike is comfortable and you are enjoying it.

    Hope this helps.

  4. Yes , good beginner to intermediate bike. the Allez was my first roadbike. I have been cycling since 2004. i now have a better bike.
