Question:

Is this a good bike for me?

im about 5'7" and weigh about 175 and im 15 almost 16 and would like a nice road bike i like biking and this is the best way for me to work on my cardio and i was wondering if this bike would be okay for me (if not what bike or what size do you think would work)

  1. Looks like a really nice bike for the price, but before you buy it, you should probably go to a bike shop and see if they can give you advice on what size you should get.

  3. Ridley makes excellent bikes.  Please understand, however, that your reference link is frame only, not a complete bicycle.

    In that bike the correct frame size for you is going to be around 52cm, but check the geometry carefully, as good fit is important.

    It's good that you are getting into cycling. At your age and height, you should weigh 140 pounds at the outside, so you have some serious exercising ahead of you to drop 35 pounds.  Bicycle racers your age and height will generally weigh in around 125 pounds.  The good news is that bicycling is the best way I know to lose weight.  There are two new guys in my riding group that have lost over 50 pounds each this year.

  4. Looks like a good bike, but I couldn't find the component description. Yes, you should go to a coupla bike shops & see what they have, what you like & talk to a few people to see about size & use. Thats a lot of money to spend.
