My almost nine year old next door neighbor, Scott, and I have a huge interest in kick scooters and archaeology, like Indiana Jones. I have this book idea that Scott and I could write together,in the summertime, Scott and I find a map to this hidden treasure,(I'm not going to say which treasure.) and then we get on our kick scooters, then drive for an hour to where the x marks the spot. While we're driving, we face a lot of dangerous traps!

  1. I think u must go ahead n try

  2. It's not so weird, but it's lacks originality. Hidden treasure maps are very over-played.

Maybe instead of finding a map, you find a message hidden in a recently deceased relatives will? Then that message can lead you to a bunch of different places while you're searching for whatever it's hiding, and that's where you can come across those dangerous traps!

Good luck I hope this helps!

  3. its not weird, it just sounds like a children's book. ya know one of the classic stories that everybody already knows whats going to happen next.

  4. sounds fun for 7 year old

  5. I'm old enough to be your grandfather, but the idea sounds cool.

    I envision it being illustrated.

  6. thanks for the 2 points

  7. Kid, if you talk to an editor you're going to discover that it's not what your write, it's how you write it.

It's that simple.  Try writing it with him and if you can work together it will be killah.  Meanwhile go out and borrow at least the first of Eoin Colfer's Artemus Fowl books and think about taking that seriously as a book idea -- when Eoin Colfer writes it you take it very seriously because he knows what he's doing.  If you don't but you can work together -- it'll be killah.
