  1. it looks like it would be good... but youll have to give it alot of tubes and ladders and stuf to climb and explore in.....also make sure the spacing in between the bars arent to big becuz baby syrian hamsters are able to fit threw small spaces very easily..

  2. this cage is more for a guinea pig, then a hamster. he mey be able to escape through the bars. and your hamsters cage needs some tubes. hamsters are natural tunnelers. and need some tubes to tunnel through. crittertrail and habitrail cages are perfect for this. and not anymore expensive.

plus most of them have the weel already in the cage so u dont have buy one. try something like this

    or this

    http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.js...

the second one has a whole second level of living and a external wheel. all crittertail cages has expandable ports for endless expansion ideas, for your little buddy.

  3. No it is wrong for a syrian hamster.  Read the description it is only for guinea pigs, rabbits or ferrets.  A hamster could get straight through the bars!  Also hamsters need extra layers to climb around.

Something like the below would be good:

You can filter the website by hamster cages.

  4. i really suggest this -

it's the same price and you will get more out of it.. it is also more hamster oriented and you won't have to buy a water bottle wheel, or any other accessories for it. you also get a special nest box ontop for the little guy. . It is really easy to clean also. h**l be a lot happier and like i said, its easier on the pocket. oh yeah, it should be cleaner too, the plastic sides are deeper and will hold more bedding , for that, i reccommend this - http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.js... remember, never use pine or cedar shavings. if you want to go with wood, try this - http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.js...

  5. I have one with plastic sides and mine doesn't kick out the bedding, etc. as easily. These are good as they're easy to keep clean. Please do not get a Crittertrail as someone else has suggested, these are unhygienic and have more points which the hamster might escape.

  6. That would be a perfect cage for a Syrian as long as it has some chew toys and toys to play with that would be perfect good luck.

  7. it should be. just make sure that ur hampster DOES NOT try to chew on the sides. like on the plastic and stuff because if he does then hehas a good chance of getting loose. my gerbils do that all the time

  8. I would recommend using an aquarium.  He might be able to escape from that cage by squeezing through the bars or chewing through the plastic.

  9. Maybe you should try a cage with smaller holes between the bars. I used a cage I thought would work for my Syrian but he escaped because the bars were to far apart.

  10. I think that cage is fine. You should buy a wheel though and a house. Hamsters need exercise and can sometimes run up to 8 miles in one night. A house isn't necessary, but hamsters love to sleep in them.

    Hope this helped!
