I would stay away from bridge cameras. It&#039;s not because they are not good quality. It&#039;s just they fall between two different categories, point and shoot cameras and the DSLR cameras. For good image quality, fast speed, and manual controls go with a DSLR. For compact size, and ease of use go with the p&amp;s. The bridge cameras don&#039;t really satisfy a great demand, and they cost almost as much as a DSLR.

Well...that&#039;s hard to say from just looking at a picture. But it looks like an SLR, and those are good cameras.

Its a &quot;bridge&quot; camera - between a digicam and a true DSLR. Since it has a Carl Zeiss zoom lens it should be a good camera.

IMO you may as well spend a little extra and buy the Sony A300 DSLR.
