Is this a good camera??

Question

I am joining yearbook next year and I need a really good camera for the cheapest price possible. I need to take sports pictures as well as portrait pictures etc etc. I know i need a decent amount of megapixels too. However, I know nothing about cameras. It's a decent low end camera.

1.  If you get it, make darn sure you get rechargeable batteries.  Personally, I'd get a camera that uses a lithium ion battery instead.

2.  It's very slow.  Notice the recycling time is ten seconds!  That means if you take every picture with a flash, it can only take a picture every ten seconds.  That's weak!  Without a flash it's not so bad though.

3.  If you take the time to read the manual and learn to use it, it should be ok for portraits.  Because of the slow speed, I don't think it would be that good for sports.
