I recently asked a question on here about building a custom computer but i took a look at some gaming PC's and gaming LCD monitors on tigerdirect.com and i was wondering...

-if this gaming PC: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3956792&csid=_23&body=WARRANTY#tabs

and this monitor- http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3424387&CatId=2318

are good choices?

and also this may be a stupid question but these will be compatible with one another, correct? As in they will be able to be used together?

sorry for so many questions, i just don't want to get the wrong thing! :)

  1. It's a go, good rig.

  2. yes for its price and yes the screen should work perfectly.

  3. first off yeah it's a good for computer for a good price the only thing is i would upgrade the ram and at least get 1 gig or 2 gig that's what i would do other then that it's a alright system.

  4. i am not a vista fan but it should run almost anything you throw at it.  Your monitor will also work just fine

  5. Yes the monitor will be compatible with the system unit. The 4GB of Ram is excessive, you'll only need 2 gig. The 6000+ AMD CPU chip is very good and the 9600GT is one of the latest graphics cards on the market making it one of the best currently. A 500 GB hard drive is also unnecessary and a 300 GB hard drive will be fine. All new operating systems (in this case vista) have some sort of problem or are difficult to use and they are better developed when service packs are unleashed, so perhaps you should go for xp. The price for the system unit (your first link) is too expensive unfortunately, it could be custom built for as much as $200 less I believe. A 19 inch screen is pretty large and you won't be disappointed, with the price for the monitor being pretty cheap. So overall the computer would be excellent for gaming but there are some aspects I mentioned that are unneeded and the price in a nutshell would be $1,000. Personally I would not buy it as I know there are many better deals out there, but if money isn't a concern, by all means purchase this and it will live up to your expectations now and into the future. Glad to help.
