  1. I second everything about the Mac.

Your work flow will be much easier to manage with the simple interface of a Mac.

While they are more expensive the price is worth what you get. If you're not a computer person you'll have no problems working the Mac. Most problems can be fixed with a simple reboot (restarting your computer). The likelihood of losing work because of a system failure or crash is slim to none. As I type this on a MacBook Pro I don't understand how I used to put up with my old Dell desktop (it was terrible. Dell makes a good laptop but terrible desktops). For your own benefit I'd recommend a Mac.

The Mac is a classy, useful, efficient piece of machinery. Do not get a MacBook Air, as the amount of wireless integration needed is probably out of your realm of patience. A Mac will do just about everything a PC could do, but better. This excludes computer games, as the selection is limited. You'd still have the ability to play games on addictinggames and other similar websites, and you could also purchase some of the computer games for Mac. You just won't have anything with brilliant violent bloody graphics.

You'll be happy you purchased a Mac.

  2. I'm just going to tell you straight up:

If you want a user-friendly, fast, no-virus, fun computer, go with a Mac. Windows/Dell are endlessly complicated and boring. Macs have style and need little or no knowledge of how to actually use the computer. However, if you know about computers the possibilities are still endless.

Wireless internet, WiFi, a ton of programs including iPhoto and iTunes, tons of memory, and if you run out, Mac's got new external memory.

I once was a Windows person, but since I've switched I wonder how I ever got by without my Macbook and iMac.

  3. Plain and simple this is a good computer for school and Fun. This isn't what would be considered a "gamers" computer. But you will be able to play most of the games out today.

You will be able to do all you need to do with this computer. I do recommend getting Microsoft Office instead of MS works.

Some times you can add it on at the Dell website. If you can't, you can get Office Student for 2007 from Amazon for 85$. I highly recommend it.
