  1. Guess what?  Your mom is right!

  2. yes it's true the services fees and mantaince cost alot. Insuarnce is also high due to it being a German car and sports car.

basic oil change : $100+ tax

every service needs to be done by the Audi Dealer only because other shops don't have the tools or skills to work on German cars.

  3. Average price for an Audi A4.  Not a great deal but not over priced either.

Any European car will be very expensive to fix.  German especially.

  4. yes Audi, MB, Saab, Jaguar are all very expensive to own an repair.

you can find better cars for less money.

    for $4,000

    look for

98 Acura CL, 98 Ford Mustang V6, 98 Honda Accord or Civic, 98 Nissan Frontier or Pathfinder, 98 Subaru Impreza or Legacy, 98 -00 Toyota Corolla or Echo 00

  5. your mom is right audis are expensive to maintain plus this is a v6, your gonna be wasting all your money on gas.

  6. It is a sharp looking car, but Audi's are expensive to fix and are not all that reliable.  Insurance will also be expensive as this is a fairly quick car for a young driver.

Nice try, maybe you can trick her into a Prelude or similar.

So no, it is not a good first car.  When it does break down, and it will, look for it to be expensive to fix and look for it to sit in the shop for some time as parts are scarce.  Labor rates for Audi's at the dealer easily top $100 an hour, and most smaller shops cannot work on them as they require special software and tools.
