"We are not heroes I continue to have qualms of conscience that I did so little"

Irena Sendler

She saved 2,500 Jewish children in Warsaw and was tortured by the Gestapo.

That torture was the real torture not being deny some sleep.

This should give us pause when we call people who play sports and are actors as heroes don't you thinkg?

  4. She's a genuine hero, even more so because she is so unpretentious in her statement. A great woman! It's an excellent definition.

  5. I completely agree

A hero is not something gained merely by putting on a uniform.  Be it an athlete, cop, fireman or soldier, the title hero must be earned by an action or actions that exceed showing up to work and doing the job you are being paid for.

We throw that term around too freely these days.

  6. yes

  7. I agree one-hundred percent.

  8. She is a hero, because she has saved so many lives, and riskes her own. She helpes the people around her, and brings good to them.
