Question:

Is this a good guitar for beginners?

It's a 41" Gibson Maestro Guitar

I dont know if it's good or not. i know nothing about guitars and you have any suggestions at which guitars are better for beginners than that would help a ton.

  1. I would reccomend anything by Epiphone, as they are lower end Gibsons. Also, Squier makes a decent beginners guitar.

This is an electric guitar, and the odds are good it came as part of a "starter kit" when new.  It is a solid body guitar, which means it makes little or no sound unless plugged into an amplifier.  It is not a very good guitar, and is likely to be hard to intone.  This is a procedure by which the guitar is set up to play in tune at every fret for every string.  I checked the Web and the kits run around $150 US.

    If you want an acoustic guitar, that makes sound without an amplifier, this is not a good choice.  Otherwise it is a very inexpensive, and probably limiting instrument.
