Is this a good head unit to buy?

I just need a decent head unit because im planning on hooking up an amp and subs. I currently have a tape deck in my mercury grand marquis. This is the head unit on amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0011FMPGA/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top . Will it sound alright in my stock speakers? Will it give them enough power? Im not looking for anything fancy and this had a low price and a good brand name. Please correct me if Im wrong and let me know if this is a good buy or not. Im really new to this and any help is awsome. Thanks!

Being as its your first system its a good headunit especially for the price you may want to consider bumping up to the DEH-3000 or DEH-4000(built in ipod control) but if they are out of your price range go with the 2000 pioneer makes great headunits.
