Question:

Is this a good homemade face wash?

I've been looking up stuff online to see what kinds of essential oils are good for skin care. I have a little bit of scarring from old acne, and I'm also trying to prevent future acne (I still have a little bit). So far, I've found that tea tree oil, vitamin e, jojoba, and lavender oil are all good. Would the following routine be effective as a good skin care?

Face wash/scrub with lavender oil mixed with tea tree oil (and some kind of exfoliant)

Then rubbing vitamin e oil

Then finishing with jojoba oil.

I don't really know that much about essential oils and natural products, so any suggestions would be helpful! What works for you?

One more thing, I'm vegan, so please don't give me any suggestions that use milk, yogurt, eggs, or honey because I won't use them. Thank you!

  1. i think Extra Virgin Olive Oil works, but first you'll need to clean it with soap (your face that is).:)

  2. Be sure to dilute the oils, and I would add rosemary oil--it's a good purifier.  I would only use a light oil such as sesame, as the others can mess up your skin.  Also, use fruit acid exfoliant (or use fresh papaya), not anything with walnut shells or other things that are abrasive.  Irritating your skin will create more breakouts.  Rose water makes a nice finish to all of that.
