  1. very good maybe add a little more detail though (ie kind of plant, how much salt, kind of salt, etc)

  2. i would state why you think that:

maybe because of too much salt make the ph levels rise and that could poison the plant.....i think!

quick question: where is the salt going? soil, water that u feed it?

  3. Sure

  4. Um...I don't think it will but I don't know a bunch about science so...

  5. I wouldnt onsider it a good hypothesis, but it definately is a great start, you have your first idea. Now you need to go more indepth and make it more interesting,  now your probably thinking what the heck is she talking about, well, just think about what research you will be performing to obtain the result to your hypothesis, To go more indepth think about why it will die, how will it die, when will it die, those sort of questions but especially why. A plant will die with too much salt because.... finish that sentence keeping good structure and youll have a great hypothesis!

  6. yes

  7. Yes.

  8. The idea is good but the specific wording is very bad. You need to be more specific about what you mean.

  9. You need more detail. "Too much salt" could mean anything. Also, you should specify what kind of plant you are testing. I assume you are planning some kind of experiment. You should mention your control group as well. For example:

"I predict that after two weeks, marigolds watered with 1/2 cup tap water daily will be healthier than marigolds watered with 1/2 cup of water and 1 tablespoon of salt."

  10. well dont plants usually die with too much anything?

    too much water it dies

    too much sunlight it dies

    its an ok theory

too much salt it would probably die :]

  11. Actually...no.

A hypothesis should be a bit more specific.  In this case, it should be more specific because we already KNOW that too much salt will kill a plant.

    Try a hypothesis like this:

"When the average salt content of tapwater is doubled (or tripled, etc), a fern will die."

Mention the specific plant, and define the exact amount of salt that you will use.

  12. Its good. Its very simple mind you, but good. Proof of concept I guess. And its testable too!
