Is this a good idea for a hamster?????

I take a shoe box and put bedding and 2 toilet paper rows and spread some food around in it is that a good idea for it t have fun

what else could i put???

Make sure the shoe box doesn't contain staples (some do).

Plain white unscented toilet paper is often fun for hamsters.

Mazes are easy to make using paper towel tubes, boxes, and other random things you can find around the house.

You can search google for "homemade hamster toys" and get tons of neat ideas. Just use common sense - someone has a site with a bowl of water for a swimming pool - BAD IDEA - don't get your hamster wet!

If you have a quite small shoe box join two together by cutting out similar sized holes for your hamster to crawl through. That way you can fit everything inside without your hamster getting lost! Also I would advise you to put a small sized piece of flezi-plastic. I get it from my pet shop, once you remove some feiceis from your hamsters cage using tweezers, place a large amount of it on flezi-plastic. The hamster will pee and poo on the plastic and less jobs for you to clean it out more often!

It sounds good to me, but remeber, the hamster can't have a bowl of water or else it will drown. So maybe you can find a mini water bottle, fill it w/water, make a small hole in the twisty-cap on the bottle, cut a hole in the box, and place the water bottle in the hole. Just an idea. Or if you can't do that, look online or at garage sales for some cheap cages.

Yes!  Just make sure your hamster has a lot of space and some light coming from holes in the box.  You could put a wooden ball, some chew toys, and a few sticks in there too.  Remember not to leave your hamster in the box for too long, becuase it will start to chew through the cardboard, or it can get really bored.
