I'm writing a play about that seagull in Scotland who keeps stealing chips...

uppercase parts are fictifictionalseagull starts to steal chips from a store in EVERETT WA (in real life its in Scotland) the store owner gets mad and starts to close the doors in order to keep the seagull (sam the seagull- real life name) but costumers start to pay for the seagulls chips (doritos- in real life- due to copyright you might have to change that) BUT ONE MAN HAS A GRUDGE AGINST THE BIRD (HE STOLE HIS SANDWICH ONE DAY) AND SOON OBSEIVLY TO KILL IT. THE ONLY PERSON WHO KNOWS ABOT THE MANS PLOT IS HIS NEICE (OR NEPHEW) WHO TELLS HIS HIGHSCHOOL (EVERETT HIGHSCHOOL-HOME OF THE SEAGULLS) THE SCHOOL SOON BEGINS TO PROTECT THE BIRD- INCLUDING USING THE FOOTBALL TEAM TO STAMPEDE THE MAN(THIS IS A COMEDY), AND HAVING PARADES AND PETITIONS TO HALP PROTECT SAM THE SEAGULL. THE STORY ENDS WITH THE MAN ATTEMPTING TO SHOOT THE BIRD AND THE NEPHEW OR NEICE OF THE MAN CALLS THE POLICE AND THE MAN GETS ARRESTED- AND SAM THE SEAGULL LIVES ON.

  1. it's usually pretty illegal to pull out a gun in public and shoot something... but I'm not entirely sure about WA state law.

throw in a tie in to the war on terror and it will be topical AND have a message. I'm not sure how you'd do it, but you're the playwright.

As for the play in general, it could work... It would probably be better as a movie, though it would be a pretty lousy movie. A lot of it sounds pretty contrived, but if you work WITH that, you could pull it off.

  2. 1. I think its interesting, and has potential, if written well.

    2. Live and let live?

    4. Don't know. Google?

    5. Um....I don't like the ending. Would you send your family member to jail for a seagull? Even if it was a special seagull? Not very realistic.

  3. Are you sure the bird is stealing chips like Doritoes? because im pretty sure it would mean hot chips, like fries in America.

  4. Not really something I would watch honestly.

  5. I'll only answer 2 questions

1-I would act in it, but if I wasn't in it I wouldn't watch it.

    and

4-Disturbing the piece for firing a weapon, endangering the people, ect.

  6. ...Sorry, but it sounds like a horrible play. I wouldn't go see it if someone paid ME.

  7. If you, the writer, don't know what the "message" is, then there isn't some hidden message. When you see poetry, or plays, or stories that have hidden meanings, and if it's done by a competent writer, then they put that meaning in there. If you want to convey a meaning, start by thinking of a meaning yourself and incorporate it. Be willing to practice, feedback from others is important but you need to be willing to try different ideas and thoughts in your own if you want to be a good writer. But it does sound like a cute story, done well it should be pretty good.
