Is this a good idea?

Hey!

So I am hoping to publish a fantasy series one day. I am 15 and planning everything out right now and later on in the future. In my first book, which takes place in a magical country, I was wondering if this would stand out.

When the children enter and try escaping back to earth, they are told they cannot return to their world, until they have succeeded in their task and victory is upon the people there. Should I keep this idea?

You should keep it. People evolve and change their habits into new things. You can keep the idea because some people would want to stick to the old things. BUT some other people want something new and more exciting! So you should keep it. By the time your older you'll come up with new idea's and some people might like it, LIKE ME! Just keep the idea.

Okay, you seem to have a lot of problems with being paranoid about your story sounding like Narnia, because you get on here very often and ask the same question multiple times in the same day.

It does, in fact, sound a bit like Narnia. But I tell you that if you write it in an original format and add your own ideas, then it will be original. What does it matter, anyway? Unless you want to be published. But for the time being, I suggest just writing for yourself and growing in your skills and ideas. Eventually it will grow into its own story. Take a break if you need, and original ideas will come to you.

CS Lewis's books are great, and being compared to them would be an honor, anyway. I like your idea, and think you should continue. It sounds very good and interesting.

I like it :) Maybe there should be some specific reason why they have to get back to earth soon, so it turns into a race-against-time kind of thing.

or

Maybe they have a limited amount of time to complete their task in the other world, and if they don't complete it then they will be trapped in this magical country forever. Or something else really bad will happen.

Just some ideas, it sounded like you already have a storyline.

Yeah!!!  I think the idea is wonderful and creative, that is such a great talent being able to come up with something like that.  I know if it comes out i'd be one of the first to read it.

Yes i do think that you should keep this idea and not change it. Only change it if YOU dont like it. I think its good to get other peoples advice but in this case I think that you should do what you feel and if you think that its a good idea for your 1st book then go with it! Who knows.... You may become bigger then you ever thought you would because of that one book so try it and see!!!  But I like the idea
