I really want to get my last years teacher again for the next class up because I could really understand her and she was really easy going so i'm emailing my school counselor Mrs.Smart to make a request.

"Hi Mrs.Smart,

Last school year, as a freshmen I had Mrs.Wilkins for physical science and I really enjoyed being a student of hers. I understood her way of teaching and I was able to maintain a really good grade in her class. So I was wondering if I could make a request to have her for biology as a sophomore if it's not to much to ask for or just to late to make a request?

  1. I'm sure any counselor would be impressed with your letter. Also, consider simply calling your school's counseling office and speaking with them personally about requests. I doubt you need to be as formal as a letter though I'm sure it would be appreciated. It sounds like your request has merit since it's based on your well being and grades instead of something like you want to be in a class because your friend is. Some high schools allow students to change their schedule as far as a week into the year. Call your counselor and see if you can set up an appointment to speak with her about making a request and if not, try the letter...both are wonderfully mature ways to communicate this matter.

  2. That's fine you will probably get in unless the class is full =] add a Thank you for your time its cheesy but it always helps to suck up

  3. Edit:

    Thanks, Dexter Dacanay

I think it sounds more professional if you got rid 'hi', 'really', and 'if its not to much to ask for'. That way you establish that you're serious about this and you don't sound like a pushover. Also I added 'thanks' just to sucker her up a little bit. Good luck!
