well...I'm currently doing a course modelled after the a-levels in the Caribbean.(Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Exams) in biology chemistry and mathematics (which i am going to drop for sociology because i HATE maths). this course is 2 years long and after each year we do an exam (this year i considered to be a practice year so i didn't take it seriously and i'll do it next year). when i finish it next year i plan to do the A-level exams. is this a good plan. also i want to know what would be the proper grades for me to get a scholarship?

i want to major in biochemistry and i'm looking at university of Manchester. Liverpool, Birmingham or London metropolitan as a safety school.

  1. Bite the bullet -- take the math   Biochemistry requires general chemistry and that requires math.  If it is any solace to you, the chemistry will cause you to remember the math as more than an abstraction.

  2. If it's equivalent to A levels there's no need to do A levels as well. Universities accept many international qualifications.
