I am currently a sophmore but not enrolled this fall but will be in the spring. I started my freshman year last year as a biology major but now i want to switch to nursing. i transferred to a differnt school for the spring sem bc its cheaper so i will be a pre nursing student bc they dont have a nursing program. so im going to work towards that and i guess i would do my core classes in the spring and summer.. then i want to transfer to this other college which has a nursing program where i can major in nursing and eventually finish up with a bs in nursing and become a r.n... Then once i get my requirements up for p.a. program i want to enter that for another two years and finish up as a p.a... Does this all sound correct? am i following a good path as far as what to major in? I've looked up most of it and this is what i got out of the information as far as what i need to do to become a p.a... any help would b great

  1. PA programs do require a bachelor's degree.  However, if you are not planning on really becoming a nurse, why don't you major in something else - biology, chemistry, really anything as long as you meet the pre-reqs for PA school?  That way you won't have to spend so much time getting a nursing degree you're not even going to use.

  2. Why spend all of the time getting a BS in nursing if your ultimate goal is to be a P.A.  Check the medical schools in your area and find out the course requirements for a P.A. degree and go after them...you are going to be wasting time and money otherwise
