  1. That's not enough food!!!  I highly suggest Weight Watchers - 40 pounds and counting.

  2. Have a large breakfast that keeps you going for a while, and then have small snacks to keep you going through the day.

Don't replace meals with protein shakes.  Have nuts, fish or eggs if you aren't a meat person.

My rule is that I don't bring junk food into my house at all.  (Unless its for a special occasion and I have only enough for guests, no extra).

Drink water or tea (Green tea is always good!).  Make sure you're getting some dairy (I usually have a cup of yogurt everyday, or some cheese).

You should also change your routine.  If your body gets used to what you're doing your workout won't be as effective anymore. Start working different muscle groups in different ways, and keep it fresh.

Fish for dinner is always good, it gives lots of energy, increases your alertness, but is very healthy.

Apparently 2 bananas should be enough to fuel you through a full workout.  Oh and spinach is a great thing, full of vitamins and boosts your  metabolism.  So do berries, eat lots of those.

  3. hotchic is completley right.  Don't do a protien shake for supper.  Instead try something like baked chicken with steamed brocolli.  Just avoid all fried foods, and eat healthy you don't have to be hungry all the time.   I did this and after about a month I tried to eat a cheeseburger and it made me throw up bc my body wasn't used to greasy foods.  So I knew I had accomplished something.   Just becareful bc I started this diet around the same time I bought my dress and when it came time for the final fitting it was to big and my b***s were to small! : (

  4. That sounds like you wouldn't be having enough intake of calories.. especially if you plan to work our twice a day.

Try weight watchers.. it is a great way to take weight off healthily.

  5. I applaud you wanting to lose it slowly.. my wife has done FIRM and looks awesome.. she had 3 kids and is pre-preg weight... only lose the weight if you are going to keep it off... you do have to change your lifestyle.. portion control & exercise...

  6. Try the South Beach Diet.  It's easy and effective.  I've lost 30lbs in 3months and I eat more now than before.  You can find the guidelines online or get the book.  I preferred the book because it explained why eating certain foods worked while others didn't.

Also, I have not exercised at all (other than softball one night per week).  My Fiance has lost 40lbs in 3 months and FMIL has lost 50lbs and maintained it in the past year.

It's really more of a lifestyle change than a diet and once you start you really never go "off" the diet or change.  It's great!

  7. That sounds good, but I would consult your doctor before you start a new diet plan for yourself. Everyone's body is different, you should always check with your doctor before making a change in  your diet! Good Luck!!

  8. It sounds too extreme.  I know I wouldn't have been able to stick to anything that harsh.  Its a little pricey, but I used weight watchers.  They have an online program I used so I didn't have to go to meetings.  I think its like $20/month.  They even have a "shape up" 12 week challenge for brides.  I didn't have time to do the exercises, but tracking my eating following their food plan was pretty easy and I lost about 25 pounds over 6 months.  Teaches you good habits and the weight has stayed off.

  9. just dont deprive yourself from food...

OH, AND YOU KNOW, I TOOK KICKBOXING CLASS 3X A WEEK AND I LOST 25 POUNDS IN ONE MONTH OFCOURSE W/ SOME DIET, BUT IT WASN'T AS TIGHT AS YOURS, JUST CONTROL ON FOOD AND NO POPS

  10. Go to firstfitness.com and checck out the "suddenly slim"program.  For a 10 day program it is about 80 dollors.

OR.... Eat a medium portion of fruit for breakfast with a protein shake.  For lunch the first 3 days each no meat, only a large salad, and another shake, same for dinner.  For the next 7 days eat the same for breakfast, for lunch add 3oz of lean protein a salald and a shake, same for dinner.  You can lose 15 - 20 lbs in 10 days.

  11. I'm a nutritionist and I can tell you that you should NEVER replace a meal with a protein shake. You actually lose weight fast if you have six small, healthy meals instead of three large meals. Try to eat healthy foods in smaller portions six times a day. Don't exceed 1500 calories a day. The key to losing one pound a week is to burn 500 calories a day more than you consume. So, in order to drop 2 pounds per week (which is the healthy limit) you have to burn 1000 calories a day more than you consume. Which means you consume 1500 (no less) calories and you burn 2500 (no more) calories a day. This is the only healthy way to drop the weight.

  12. Protein is very good for you and it is fine to replace a shake for breakfast.  I wouldn't replace one for dinner though.  That is a very substantial meal.  Also it is better to eat 5 smaller meal throughout the day.  Also, drink a lot of water.  Some carbs in your diet is not bad.  Don't starve yourself.  That will have the opposite affect.  If you feel hungry, you should eat something.  Just eat something healthy like vegetables or a shake.

  13. If you are serious about this, you need to visit your doctor or a nutritionist. He/she will help you plan a diet and exercise program that helps you lose weight in a healthy way. Two protein shakes, a fruit, and a vegetable is not enough food - you will be hungry, which will make you more likely to cheat on your plan, and your body won't have the energy it needs to function.

  14. It doesn't sound like you're going to be eating enough. You're working out a lot, yet you've replaced two meals with a protein shake. Here are some ideas...

Oatmeal is a VERY healthy breakfast and it seems to "stick" with you until lunch. You can make it yummy by splenda or fruit or cinnamon something. Remember, a packet of plain oatmeal is only 100 calories.

As for dinner, instead of a protein shake, try some fish or chicken with rice or veggies. Lean Cuisine has very yummy dinner consisting of meat and veggies and they normally always have less than 400 calories. See, you could even eat dessert!

Snacking is very important too- that way you don't pig out after being starved between meals.

If you go about this gradually, you are more likely to stick with your plan. I know you want a quick fix, but really, you're more likely to stick with it and keep the weight off if you go about it gradually. As long as you have weight to lose, it is totally healthy and attainable to lose 1-2lbs a week. (1lb = 3,500 calories... that means you need to burn off 500 more calories each day than you consume.) So say you lose 1-2lb a week until feb... you could easily lose 50lb.

*Note, I am basing this as if you actually have 50lbs to lose. If you weigh 140lb then obviously it is not going to be healthy to lose 50lb!!

    GOOD LUCK!!

  15. Why don't you just try Weight Watchers instead? You have PLENTY of time to lose a great deal of weight and tone up very nicely. I did Weight Watchers in the past and lost 25 lb. very easily. But I know people who have done it and lost much more weight. It is very easy to adapt to your lifestyle and quickly becomes such a part of your life that it's second nature. That way with Weight Watchers you can still eat a meal instead of having to replace breakfast with a crummy shake. It'll be replacing it with something of the same caloric and nutritional value (like fruit & a smoothie). Then for lunch you can have a sensible meal and the same for dinner, along with a healthy snack or two. And a time or two per week you can have a meal or snack you've been craving (there are a few extra points to allow for cravings or extra servings, it's very nice the way they are already built in!)

I think it's awesome that you want to lose weight, but you can't give your body that little food. You have to nourish it and take care of it in order for it to work properly and lose weight without burning up your muscles. I really think based on what you said about wanting to lose weight slowly so you can keep it off that you'd be *extremely* successful at Weight Watchers! You might could even end up being one of their paid meeting leaders. It's a really rewarding program, very supportive. You also get extra points that you can exchange for food points when you do exercise (like your Firm videos). You can exchange the exercise points for food points if you want (you don't have to, but why not?!? you earned them!) Hope this helped some!

Oh, almost forgot! Here's a link so that you can go to your first Weight Watchers meeting for free: http://www.weightwatchers.com/beourguest...
