  1. I own both the BRKB and the S&P.  If you are going to own equities that is a pretty safe portfolio.  I would probably buy some now and wait and invest the rest when there is a little more clarity in the market.  In the long run, I'm sure you wil be in good shape.  In the short run...I wish I could tell you.  It's a pretty scary mkt right now.


  2. Dont listen to unskilled

    This is a good portfolio to start. However, pick up some international investments as well. In particular, china, india, or brazil based investments. Never own more than 8 different stocks because you will simply mimic the S&P. Pick up some DRIP's (Dividend Reinvestment Programs). Instead of giving dividends in the form of money, they give it in the form of stock. Your position really builds fast. KO (Coca Cola) has one of these programs, check it out.

  3. instead of Brk.b, I would go with oil and natural gas stocks

  4. low risk=low reward, so in the longer term you may not do so well.
