Is this a good potty chair for a boy??

It's cute, but my son hated potty chairs, he preferred the cushion that went on the toilet seat (got it at wal-mart for about $10) & likes to "pee like daddy" We rewarded him with stickers when he used the potty, and he earned treats for the stickers he earned we had him earn 3 for a small prize.  We never used a doll, I don't understand why people waste their money on things like that... but if you feel you want to spend the money, it may work for your son!! every child is different I know that!!  Good luck!

It is very cute, but lots of bells and whistles which may be over the top.  I have 3 children & not one of them would use a potty chair.  All prefered the cushion seat which fits on the big toilet.  It made them feel like a real big kid to use the same potty as Mom & Dad.  You would probably be better off purchasing a small stool to go in front of the toilet & a cushion seat.  

I am not sure what a potty training doll is, but the ole cheerio target in the toilet works wonders for a boy. (If you are going to learn standing up)  Just get used to the idea of cleaning often at first.
