Is this a good reason for babysitting?

my brother friend has 4 kid.. 3 of them go to school.. she gets well fare.. she said i could babysit her baby and the government could pay me.. IS THIS TRUE.. How much do they pay? Is this a good job?

I'm not so sure the government will pay you.I think she was just kidding about the government part.sorry.

I can only answer for the state I live in.  I'm a welfare worker for California.  If the mother works and is not over the income limit she is allowed day care credit.  This could work out to almost $75.00 a day paid directly to you but this is depending on her income.  You could qualify if 1. You are old enough. 2. You pass a background check (fingerprinting) and a TB test.  Step # 2 has to be taken by every member of your household.  Given you go thru that, in Calif. it's possible.  By the way most states have similar rules.

I'm going to have to say... this is not a good job. I suggest you go find another job that pays a steady paycheck. I also think working for a friend isn't ever really a good idea. Sometimes friendships can be ruined because they work for each other. Just a suggestion though. This is pretty much up to you to decide.

Why would they pay you to babysit her kids?  She could pay you out of her welfare money (for childcare expenses), but they would never pay you directly.  It's not true, she just wants you to watch her kids, then she'll act all surprised when the government doesn't pay you.
