Is this a good running plan?

im trying to lose weight and i figured i need to start running. i came across this guide and i was wondering what you guys think.

is this a good guide? anything that you'd suggest changing?

also, any other tips to help lose some weight are greatly appreciated.

  1. Any program that keeps you motivated and that you think will help you is a good program ... I don't think there are any "bad" running programs... the one you've selected seems to do a good job building up momentum.

    Weight Loss Tips:

    Eat lean meats ... lots of protein

    Try and avoid lots of starch (rice, pasta, bread) and sugar (cola, candy)

    Work in weight training / strength training... even if it's just basic push ups and sit ups

    I do a program called Crossfit ... it does a good job of mixing up metabolic conditioning and strength training exercises.  I've been working out for about 4 months on the program after not working out for about a year and I've seen some great results.  Best of all, workouts are always short and will keep you motivated... and on the message boards the workouts are scaled to match your fitness ability.
