Is this a good score on an IQ Test?

Just to clarify, standards have actually been shifting a bit so that ~110 is 'average' and not 100.  The old ratings are based on a bell curve distribution with 100 at the center.

120 - 140 - Very superior intelligence

110 - 119 - Superior intelligence

90 - 109 - Normal or average intelligence

80 - 89 - Dullness

70 - 79 - Borderline deficiency

Under 70 - Definite feeble-mindedness

Depends on whether it was an online test or a standardized one.  Online tests are meant for entertainment and really don't give valid scores.

128 on a standardized IQ test would be a good score, yes.  How good would depend on the size of the standard deviation.  At the very least, it would be more than 1 standard deviation above average which would put you in the brightest 15 or 20% of the population.

[And BTW, Jo Man, that's why they restandardize them every few years.  That's the mysterious Flynn effect at work.]

100 is supposed to be the average score for an IQ test, so that is a good score. However, if you took an online IQ test, be wary as the results are often falsely inflated. They want to sell you a report giving you more detail of your intelligence. They are unlikely to sell many if their test reveals you are dumb.

IQ is not a comprehensive indicator of intelligence, cognitive speed and general smartness anyway. For instance, I have an above-average IQ score. But I have about the same common sense as a doorknob.
