Is this a good story???

In Language Arts my teacher has told us to write a "novel" (keep in mind we're in middle school) and I think I want to do mine on a girl that is only in Middle School but she has no idea what her purpose on this earth is....she feels like everyone around her has their life figured out and she's the only one still guessing. I'm really not sure how it's gonna end but I think that's the "main idea". Is this one good???

Before I had a story about a s****. girl whose uncle died and her cousin had to come live with them, and the s****. girl realized she wan't as important as she thought. The girl later becomes best friends with her cousin....but the only problem with that story is that I really don't feel confident in it...and when I asked my friend if it was a good story she was like "sure..." but I knew she thought it was weak.....can somebody help me please!!

It sounds like a decent plotline. The trick is how you presented it. I would read it out loud at see how it sounds. If it has a good, relaxed flow- and there is a good message- go for it. Best of luck.
