  1. The only sub worth buying is the L7 and nothing else.

As for the Type R, yes they are a good sub. But you can get the same output, deeper bass, fast response from another company for less than you got that Type R for. Unless you got it for free. Check into Elemental Designs Audio. Their Ov line is compariable and actually better than the Type R line. I used to own 2 12" Type R's until I heard the 13Ov.2, then I sold the Type R's.

  2. I have that sub (type R).  I think it kicks ***, but i'm not a serious basshead either.  They don't call them "Hype Rs" for nothing.  They are best suited in a ported box with a good amount of juice, at least 800 watts continuous RMS.

  3. I would say that Kicker subs hit louder than the Alpines.  I had a Kicker CompVT in my truck and it was loud, even at 400 watts RMS.  You can't go wrong with Alpine though.  My friend just bought two 10s for his car and they hit very good.  If you want more power and loudness, go with Kicker...that's just my opinion though.

  4. Good sub.

Great price, great quality and great sound.

For what this sub costs you CAN'T go wrong.

The CVR is better than the comp.

  5. titanium eclipse

  6. If you want true bass, a MTX 7500 can whip any alpine type R out of town. Type R's are good subwoofers, but 7500's can take a beating with a good solid amplifier. Go to onlinecarstereo.com and see for yourself all of the selections of subwoofers there are.
