  1. hmm. ok number one-walmart.  i would never buy any stereo equipment from walmart.  go to http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl....

for the money, these are probably the best speakers you'll ever find.  for the receiver i would recommend the panasonic sa-xr55 6.1 channel digital receiver.  i've had it for over a year and paid $220 for it.  according to every review i could find it blows away anything under $500 and even some up to $750.  panasonic got a huge jump on digital amps and is now producing them at a fraction of the price of everyone else.

  2. get the onkyo ht-sr800, you won't regret it.

  3. You are not going to get a good surround system at walmart.  10% total harmonic distortion is a ridiculous number.  Any decent amp would be measured to .01% total harmonic distortion.  I can't believe Pioneer (who used to be a good manufacturer) would fudge numbers like this to fool unsuspecting consumers.  Shame on walmart and shame on pioneer.

Here is a decent starting point-

  4. Five stars baby!  You already know the answer!

  5. Bose would've been better.

  6. On the cheap, sure.  But you're not going to impress much with those small speakers.  They don't even tell you the frequency range the speakers can do.  Plus 10% THD is not that great.  But then again it is under $200.
