is this a good sounding surround sound system?

It seems fine. I heard the Logitech Z-5500 ($300), sounded impresive.

If you plan to use it within a small space for your COMPUTER, then yes it will serve you well.  This is a computer sound system, and it is made for listening at close range (within 2-5 ft).  It offers no way to connect a videogame system, DVD player, HD cable box, or AV receiver to it.

$99 ...........no i would say its not good,

depends on you though .........for movies and games you want something with abit more punch but you also want something cheap yes !

go with samsung they are cheap and very good value for money ...i have been buying alot of samsung stuff latley and am very pleased with it all

Great for your desktop but not for your living room.  140 watts is less than 1/3 of what 1 of my main channel speakers puts out.
