  1. No 440 swords are that good.

I hope you actually have training in using a sword, although if you have to ask this probably not so do us a favor. Video you using it, and everything that comes after it, like the trip to the emergency room and post it on here for us to see.

DO NOT PLAY WITH SWORDS IF YOU ARE NOT TRAINED< PLEASE

  2. total c**p.

stainless steel is ONLY good for ginsu knives and wallhangers- this is obviously a fantasy sword from the looks of it (never mind that ninja swords did not exist historically- the closest thing is a straight bladed katana called the choku-to).

cutting is the ABSOLUTE WORST thing you can do with a stainless steel wallhanger- I can't even bring myself to call something that is made in the shape of a sword out of stainless steel a "sword". stainless steel is not meant to withstand the additional trauma that a sword must take when cutting or under heavy use- by contrast a smaller knife that doesn't have as much pressure on the blade can work.

if you prefer to not get injured when cutting buy something else.....

again- here is that infamous sword shopping network video of what will happen with a stainless steel sword.

  3. What are you going to cut?  Vegetables?

  4. Looks like a machete.

  5. looks gruesom

  6. Yes it is.

  7. Stainless steel is too brittle when it is sword-length.  It will break.  Also, as a non-functional piece, the hilt assembly may fail if you swing it with authority, and then you've launched a sharpened steel "spear", and Lord help whoever/whatever's in the way.

If you choose to cut, get competent instruction first.  A fast-moving sword is very dangerous if mishandled.  There are many people making swords that will cut these days...and even more who make swords that will not.

Talk to someone competent before you buy.  I will second the suggestion to visit the Sword Forum.  They have a beginner's forum that will answer most of your questions.  Just do a search on what you're interested in.

    Good luck, and stay safe!

  8. No it is a piece of junk. There are NO swords of any value made of stainless steel.

  9. Doesn't look balanced to me - in fact is way too forward for my liking.

Any moves you make will make you over-reach , slow recovery, and leave you open. Fine if you want your hands, then head lopped off.

  10. its nasty

  11. No, it's probably just for display. If you want a sword that's worth c**p it need to be made of Japanese or German steel. 440 Stainless is the best you'll get in a sword made in America and it's not very strong.

  12. you may choose another one made of high carbon steel at http://www.handmadesword.com

a good webiste offering handmade, real functional swords.
